Diigo in Education

Many educators are inundated with information on the Internet.  Keeping this information organized can pose a tremendous task.

Diigo is a powerful, free, social bookmarking website with annotating capabilities.  Social bookmarking is a method for Internet users to organize, store, manage, and search for bookmarks of resources online.  Diigo allows users the options to bookmark, highlight, and tag selected web pages that can be retrieved from any computer, anytime, any place.  It also allows the user to add interactive sticky notes to any web page you are reading and write your personal comment for later review.

Diigo also provides educators the option for creating an educator account – with private accounts for your students, even without email addresses.  Students are provided with the organizational tools for research and collaboration through the use of bookmarks and tags.
